Zelong Yin
Zelong Yin is an incoming PhD student in the Applied Physics program. He aims to build better quantum devices which could potentially change the way we process information and understand nature. He obtained his BS in Physics and Math in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied the properties of hot and dense nuclear matter that exists in the early universe. He also conducted research on superconducting circuits at Tencent, where he developed better methods to control and readout superconducting qubits. He is joining Jelena Vuckovic’s group at Stanford to develop quantum photonic devices for quantum information and communication applications. In his free time, he loves to play badminton, singing, and playing guitar.
