Elijah David Solomon Courtney

Elijah comes to Stanford's Physics PhD program from the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a BS in physics and a strong undergraduate research record including publications in experimental blast physics, computational models of molecular formation in the early universe, and multiple internships with experimental groups at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Elijah is pursuing experimental condensed matter physics with the goal of producing relevant, practical research results. He is now working in the Geballe Laboratory for Advanced Materials and is interested in the research being done by the groups of both David Goldhaber-Gordon (Physics) and Young Lee (Applied Physics).
