David Long

2024 Bloch Fellow
Postdoctoral Scholar, Physics

David Long studies the dynamics of quantum systems. His theoretical research aims to uncover the robust phenomena that can occur out of equilibrium, and to understand the mechanisms underlying these effects. His recent work includes investigations of driven quantum systems, localization, and thermalization. He uses tools from quantum, classical, and statistical physics, and has recently been interested in how tools from mathematics and topology can be used to understand non-equilibrium phases of matter. David’s faculty supervisor is Vedika Khemani. He joined Q-FARM in September 2024.
