This workshop is co-hosted by Amir Safavi-Naeini, David Schuster, Jeff Thompson and Jon Simon
As quantum hardware matures from proofs-of-principle to technologies-at-scale, we as a community need to confront the control and readout challenges implied by this paradigm shift. This workshop aims to bring together leaders in quantum science with leaders in high dimensional optical and microwave control, to explore the limits of our current control of paradigms, and the opportunities to expand through cutting-edge technologies.
By the nature of this topic, it is essential that the workshop bring together experts from both academia and industry. While we appreciate that there are competitive aspects to this space, we have a belief that there are quite a number of pre-competitive topics that we can address together. To this end, we will expect all speakers to proactively share forward-looking ideas for control and readout of their group’s quantum computers and sensors.
Presentations and discussions can include, but are not limited to: new types of spatial light modulators and cameras; new electro-optic, acousto-optic, MEMs, and photorefractive devices; multiplexing schemes to squeeze more performance out of existing technologies, how these tools have been applied to quantum computing, sensing, and simulation, and the opportunities that we anticipate given greater capabilities.
