This student-led workshop is co-organized by Joshua Reynolds, Mark Kasevich, Peter Hommelhoff, and Ido Kaminer.

The Quantum Electron Optics Student Workshop will take advantage of a short-term opportunity to connect graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from Stanford University with their peers at the Technion (Israel), FAU Erlangen (Germany), and LMU Munich (Germany) working at the intersection of free electron and quantum electron optics, ultrafast physics, and nanophotonics. This meeting would serve to better connect research groups working on next-generation electron sources and electron optics hardware with groups interested in generating entanglement between free electrons, light, and qubits, which are active areas of research both at Stanford and SLAC. Specifically, topics including electron-spin entanglement, coherent electron-light interactions, free electron quantum metrology, and strong-field quantum optics represent emerging extreme regimes of quantum optics and will be of interest to the broader QFARM community, who will be encouraged to attend and participate. This two-session workshop would take place on the morning of July 22 and feature a total of 8-10 student talks and student-led small group discussions.
